"Everybody wants children to have health insurance," Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt said. "The president has already said, 'I want a compromise.'"

Leavitt added, "If it takes more money, we'll put it up."
Bush vetoed legislation last week that would increase spending for the State Children's Health Insurance Program by $35 billion over five years. Bush has called for a $5 billion increase.

Several Republicans in both the House and Senate have sided with majority Democrats on the issue, and the Senate has enough votes to override the veto. But in the House, Speaker Nancy Pelosi has delayed an override attempt until Oct. 18, saying she needs to attract support from 14 more Republicans.

"It's hard to imagine how we could diminish the number of children who are covered," said Pelosi, D-Calif., in an interview broadcast Sunday. "The president calls himself 'the decider,' and I don't know why he would want to decide that one child has health care and another does not."

"So we take it one step at a time. And right now, we have the next 10 days to two weeks to try to peel off about 14 votes in the House," she said.

Program aimed at families stuck in the middle
The program provides health insurance to children in families with incomes too great for Medicaid eligibility but not enough to afford private insurance.

Bush and Leavitt have decried the spending increase primarily supported by Democrats as unnecessarily subsidizing middle-income people as part of Democrats' "goal of government-run health care for every American."

In the year 2014, the rising conflict between Mexican loyalists and insurgent rebel forces has thrown Mexico into full-scale civil war. Under the command of Captain Scott Mitchell, the Ghosts are called upon to face an imminent threat to the United States. The fate of two countries now lies in the hands of the Ghosts as they fend off an attack on U.S. soil.
Severe weather warnings have been issued by the Met Office for areas across the north of England and the Midlands as well as Wales.

The man from Hull, believed to be in his 20s, went to help his grandfather but slipped and became pinned back by a torrent of water.

Police divers and emergency services spent several hours trying to rescue the man from the neck-deep water but were unable to free him.

Humberside is one of the areas worst affected by the heavy downpours and lashing northerly winds.

In Sheffield, also heavily affected by the torrents of rain and a burst river bank, RAF helicopters had to be scrambled to rescue people from rooftops, television pictures showed.

The Environment Agency has issued severe flood warnings for 11 areas, mainly in the Humberside, Lincolnshire, Yorkshire and Derbyshire districts. A further eight areas are on flood warning, and 121 are on on flood watch.

A young teenager was reported missing after being swept away in the River Sheaf, South Yorkshire, police said.

Homes in Devon, Humberside, South Yorkshire and Gloucestershire in particular were struggling to cope while motorists had to abandon cars when many roads in Yorkshire became impassable.

Administration staff at Humberside headquarters had to be evacuated after it became flooded.

Police are urging people not to travel.

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said rain was forecast up to midnight (local time) at least but water levels will continue to rise for some time after the rain has stopped.

Train services have warned of disruption to services.

Wimbledon in south-west London had a delayed start on the opening day on Monday, while poor weather forced a helicopter bringing Dame Shirley Bassey back from Glastonbury to make an emergency landing in a school's grounds in Camberley, Surrey.

Tractors were called to the south-west festival site to tug out some of the 40,000 cars that had sunk into the mud.

More than 120,000 people at the festival were injured as of Sunday, mostly with sprains and bruises from slipping in the mud.

The Met Office said the weather should improve on Tuesday, with scattered showers restricted to the north and east of England.

A spokesman said rain would ease and move eastwards to clear all districts soon after dawn.

"Most places will be dry on Tuesday with sunny spells, though there will be scattered showers, chiefly in the north and east. The winds will ease, but it will feel cold," he said.

Second Post

testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingtestingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testing

First Blog Message

testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingtestingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testingString length testing

World Of Warcraft - Karazhan - Julianne

(1) Kill Julianne.
- Heals for 10-15% or so of her life. This DoT is bearable, and you should be able to heal through it, so don't burn your
cooldowns on this and miss the heal.
(2) Kill Romulo.
- Keep the buff off him that makes him do 6-7K crushing blows on your tank.
- Disarm him every time it's up. Tanks will need to be juiced up in good gear and lots of stam to survive him.
(3) They both rez up simultaneously and you have to kill them all over again. You also need to kill them both at the same time or they will rez each other in about 10 seconds. Careful when they rez together because he will run off to a healer and one-shot them.

You will need to watch both of them very closely. It's advisable to bring a mage and a rogue at least to interrupt. You can also use a felhunter, but they are fairly squishy to holy damage. Two tanks required.

“I’m not normally flat (about her voice) but crying and singing makes that to you…” says Keira. Well she was actually doing her mom’s film ‘The Edge of Love’ where she was supposed to sing and emote some serious expressions.Hmmm what can one say…except that Keira has atlast accepted that she is flat, about one thing or the other

And if you didn’t know this until now, Keira Knightley is playing a woman in this film. While the director of the movie John Wright is elated, male fans of Keira are more than happy. Not just because of the Venice Film Festival, but because ‘Atonement’ is the first movie where Keira plays and ’shows’ herself as a woman. Know what I mean?

"most of the time I just chill with my friends and have a mellow time" He also enjoys photography, shopping and buying old antiques, and he "can't stand computers".

He says he's accident prone, and has the injury list to prove it. He's broken his back, his ribs, his nose, both his legs, his arm, his wrist, a finger and a toe, and cracked his skull three times!

A year before doing the Lord of the Rings, he fell 3 stories off a friend's porch while trying to open a jammed door and broke his back. He was almost confined to a wheelchair, but luckily the doctors were able to patch him up.

His sister Samantha is 2 years older than him.

He has a dog named Sidi.

His adoptive father, Harry Bloom, died when Orlando was 4 and was a legendary figure in antiapartheid circles in South Africa. Harry also wrote a famous tome called Episode In The Transvaal, was jailed for his beliefs, and worked alongside Nelson Mandela. Orlando and his sister were raised by their mother, Sonia, and a guardian, Colin Stone. When Orlando was 13, his mother told him that Harry was not his biological father, that Colin was.

Has a tattoo of 'nine' in Elvish on his right forearm, and a sun on his torso that he got when he was 15.

He can speak French.

He has 3 A levels, two at grade A (one was art and sculpture - he is particularly good at sculpture and pottery and art), one at A level for Photography, and one at Grade C which was Religious Studies. He also has 8 'O' levels and has a BA (Hons) Drama degree from Guildhall School of Music and Drama - so he is Orlando Bloom BA (Hons).

As a kid, he was dyslexic, and now he says he is "mildly dyslexic".

He says he's currently into "all sorts of music, mostly the Ben Harper, the David Gray, and the Bob Dylan type of folk music."

For LOTR, he had to learn archery, how to ride a horse bareback (while shooting an arrow), and how to fight and wield two swords. "I started off with archery, I rode about 20 different horses, I had physical training in the gym, and I had to learn the Elvish ways of speaking and fighting. Their fighting is based on ancient European and Asian martial arts, so I had a trainer who taught me how to use the blades. I also did a lot of movement training, because movement is my way into the character." - SFX Magazine

He originally auditioned for Lord of the Rings in the part of Faramir, Boromir's brother, who wouldn't be introduced until The Two Towers. But Peter thought he would be perfect for Legolas instead. Orlando learned that he got the part the day before he graduated from Guildhall.

He wears a replica of the One ring that says "To wherever it may lead." It was given to him by one of the make-up artists on LOTR.

Born October 8, 1970, in Boston, Massachusetts. After his parents divorced when he was a young child, Damon moved with his mother and older brother from the tony Boston suburb of Newton to a more modest neighborhood in Cambridge. He appeared in several local theater productions as an adolescent and worked as an extra on movies filming in or around Boston alongside his childhood friend and fellow aspiring actor Ben Affleck. At 16, Damon auditioned for a New York casting agent and later l anded his first film role, a one-line appearance in 1988’s Mystic Pizza, starring Julia Roberts.

While a student at Harvard University, Damon appeared in a Turner Network Television (TNT) movie, Rising Son (1990), with Brian Dennehy. In 1992, he landed his first substantial role, as an obnoxious young WASP in School Ties, also featuring the up-and-coming young actors Brendan Fraser, Chris O’Donnell, and Affleck. Soon after, he dropped out of Harvard just shy of earning his degree in English and moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting more seriously.

After landing an important supporting role in Geronimo: An American Legend (1993), starring heavy-hitters Gene Hackman and Robert Duvall, Damon made his first starring turn in the 1995 TNT movie The Good Old Boys, costarring Tommy Lee Jones, who also cowrote and directed. Damon’s breakthrough performance, however, came in the 1996 film Courage Under Fire, costarring Denzel Washington and Meg Ryan.

Damon lost 40 pounds and reportedly became dangerously ill in preparation for his role as a strung-out Army medic in the Gulf War drama, for which he earned a good deal of critical praise.

The following year, Francis Ford Coppola cast Damon as the lead in his film adaptation of John Grisham’s best-selling novel The Rainmaker (1997), costarring Danny DeVito and Claire Danes. After the news that Damon snagged the high-profile role broke, he and Affleck were finally able to close the deal on the sale of their screenplay, Good Will Hunting. Originally conceived by Damon during a playwriting class at Harvard, the script had attracted offers from several interested studios, which Damon and Affleck had turned down, insisting that they be allowed to star. With advice from such luminaries as Rob Reiner and William Goldman, Damon and Affleck revised their script and subsequently sold the rights to Miramax.

With Damon in the lead, and Affleck, Minnie Driver, and Robin Williams in crucial supporting roles, Good Will Hunting became a sleeper hit in 1997, scoring nine Oscar nominations, including nods for Best Actor (Damon), Best Supporting Actor (Williams), Best Supporting Actress (Driver), Best Director (Gus Van Sant), and Best Picture. While Damon lost out to Jack Nicholson in the acting category, he and Affleck took home the award for Best Original Screenplay, an achievement that kicked both their careers into high gear.

In 1998, Damon played the title role in Steven Spielberg’s World War II epic Saving Private Ryan, one of the most acclaimed films of the year.

As the stubborn young Ryan, Damon held his own opposite the movie’s star, Tom Hanks, who played the leader of a small group of men sent to find Ryan and send him home for the sake of his mother after all four of his brothers are killed. That same year, he starred as an earnest law student and reformed poker player in Rounders, also featuring Edward Norton and John Malkovich.

Damon rejoined his friend Affleck (fresh from the summer action blockbuster Armageddon) in Dogma (1999), a sharp, irreverent comedy written and directed by Kevin Smith and also featuring the comedian Chris Rock. Near the end of 1999, he took on his riskiest role to date—that of Tom Ripley, a working-class young man who tastes the good life and will do anything to make it his own, in Anthony Minghella’s lush adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s dark novel, The Talented Mr. Ripley. Costarring Jude Law as Dickie Greenleaf, the golden object of Ripley’s affection, and Gwyneth Paltrow as Greenleaf’s equally golden girlfriend, The Talented Mr. Ripley earned somewhat mixed reviews, but critics singled out both Damon’s and Law’s performances for praise. (Law received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor.)

In 2000, Damon lent his voice to the animated space epic Titan A.E., which met with a mediocre reception among critics and audiences. Later that year, he headlined an adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s novel All the Pretty Horses (2000), as well as the golf comedy-drama The Legend of Bagger Vance (2000), directed by Robert Redford and costarring Will Smith.

In 2003, he signed on to star in Steven Soderbergh's adaptation of The Informant and the Farrelly Brothers' Stuck on You. Damon has been romantically linked in the past to costars Claire Danes and Minnie Driver. A two-year romance with the actress Winona Ryder ended in the spring of 2000.

Orlando Bloom Trivia

You have large ambitions, and it is difficult for you to be tolerant and understanding of those who desire less in life or who are more slow and methodical by nature. Patience is not your forte. You do, however, have leadership ability and would never be happy in a subservient position. You are ambitious and aggressive by nature. You would be happiest in positions where you are free to express individually and creatively and where opportunities are not restricted; you desire freedom, and do not tolerate being possessed by others. You appreciate change and travel, and the opportunity to meet and mix with others, and to influence them with your creative ideas. You are very self-confident and feel you can accomplish anything you set out to do, and you can, although, this name does not allow proper completion of undertakings, and forced changes cause financial losses and bitter experiences. This name also creates caustic expression and moods which prevent harmony and happiness in close association.

Health Weaknesses for the name of Johnny: When under strain, tension could affect the stomach and solar plexus. There is a tendency for you to worry.

Johnny Depp: Rolling Stone Cover Boy

Rock & roll “father and son” Keith Richards and Johnny Depp are Rolling Stone’s newest cover boys in their latest issue. A hilarious Q&A with the “blood brothers” is expected to go live tomorrow.

The Rolling Stones guitarist was so impressed with Depp’s acting skills on the latest POTC movie, the actor now calls him “Two-Take Richards.” Depp has said, “The anticipation was mad. Everyone was like, ‘Is he going to do it? Is he going to do it?’ And then whammo, he arrived at eight o’clock in the morning, totally prepped and ready to go. Obviously, Keith Richards - the guy invented charisma. But what I didn’t expect was he was going to be such a great actor. I started calling him ‘Two-Take Richards’. It was like this gunslinger arrived in town, charmed all the women and impressed all the men, and then split.”

When you're young you believe it when people tell you how good you are. And that's the danger, you inhale. Everyone will tell you you're a genius, which you are not, and if you understand that, you win.
George Clooney

I'm the old-fashioned type who prefers to meet a woman in a more normal setting. I don't like to feel that I'm being hunted down. I've always liked to do my own hunting when it comes to meeting women.
George Clooney on meeting women

Run for office? No. I've slept with too many women, I've done too many drugs, and I've been to too many parties.
George Clooney

The worst thing about it is when guys stake out airports with video cameras and try not to catch me doing something stupid but to make me do something stupid. Like, they push my assistant, or insult her, hoping I'll react. If I'm stupid off my own bat, I'll take the rap, but that other stuff's just rotten.
George Clooney Quote about being famous

I can't do a film about oil company corruption and drive a Bronco or a Hummer. I'm not a big gas guzzler but in other ways it's tricky.. if I'm in a private plane, obviously I'm using up a lot of gas.
George Clooney Quote

I'm too wrapped up in my work to think about children, I would need to show myself that I'm able to sustain a good long-term relationship before I could even imagine what being a father would be like.
George Clooney quote about having kids

After doing One Fine Day and playing a pediatrician on ER, I'll never have kids. I'm going to have a vasectomy.
George Clooney
I'm a Method actor. I spent years training for the drinking and carousing I had to do in this film.
George Clooney

The best advice I got from my aunt, the great singer Rosemary Clooney, and from my dad, who was a game show host and news anchor, was: don't wake up at seventy years old sighing over what you should have tried. Just do it, be willing to fail, and at least you gave it a shot. That's echoed for me all through the last few years.
George Clooney

I'm an old-time liberal and I don't apologise for it. With Syriana we're going to get beaten up politically in some places. Fair enough, because we've taken a stand. It is not an attack on the Bush administration but it is an attack on the system that has been in place for 60 or 70 years.. oil always being at the centre of it.
George Clooney Quote about the movie Syriana

Love scenes are always weird. I know everyone says that, but they are. Like: "hey guys, hop in the sack now, would you?"
George Clooney

I'm only two years older than Brad Pitt, but I look a lot older, which used to greatly frustrate me. It doesn't anymore. I don't have to fit into that category and get trounced by Tom Cruise and Brad.
George Clooney

George Clooney & Brad Pitt Entertainment Weekly Cover

Below is an excerpt from the Entertainment Weekly magazine's interview with Brad Pitt and George Clooney..

EW sat down with Brad first while waiting for his pal George to arrive. “Sorry about this,” Pitt says, contorting his body into a mess of angles and elbows to hide behind a low wall and light up a cigarette. “Actually, I’m less worried about the paparazzi catching me than someone, ahem, who doesn’t know I still smoke once in a while.” Hopefully Angie’s a forgiving woman.

When George Clooney arrives for the interview a few minutes late he yells to Pitt, “You bastard!”

Pitt: What?

Clooney: I did all these interviews right after you. And all the reporters told me, “Brad said you did the movie for the money!”

Pitt: [Laughs] I did. Believe I said it was all for the cash.

Clooney: Brutal! [Laughs] How ya doin’?

Entertainment Weekly: Good. Thanks. So I’ve heard that you guys call this movie Ocean’s Thirteen: The One We Should Have Made Last Time.

Pitt: Credit where credit is due. That was [director] Steven Soderbergh’s line.

Clooney: Steven actually wanted to bill it that way, but I don’t think the studio was so thrilled with that. It f---s up the boxed set.

EW: But it does get to a legitimate point, which was that people weren’t so fond of Ocean’s Twelve. Other than for money, why make another one?

Clooney: You know, more than anything we wanted another crack. We wanted to go out on a stronger note—and we felt like we had a great way to do it, which was revenge.

Pitt: I thought you’re a pacifist, George.

Clooney: Well, the movie really is a cry for peace.

EW: Did you know the bad reviews were coming for Twelve?

Clooney: [Laughs] No! I thought we did good, and I’m living in my own…

Pitt: …world of delusions.

Clooney: That was the funniest part. All of a sudden we started getting bad reviews and we were like, “Really?”

Pitt: Totally surprised.

Clooney: I had the same thing happen on The Good German. I thought it was really good and we got slaughtered. It’s the worst-reviewed movie that Steven or I have ever been involved in. Steven was like, “I don’t get it.”

Pitt: That’s why you have to do what I do. Don’t read ‘em. I know how I feel about the movies and that’s good enough for me.

EW: I noticed you ditched Julia Roberts and Catherine Zeta-Jones. You clearly thought the girls were a problem.

Clooney: Tell me about it. But the thing is, it’s not just that they were a problem on screen. On set they were brutal. You know them, right?

EW: Oh, sure. We hang out all the time.

Clooney: So you know why we got rid of them.

EW: But you added Ellen Barkin and Al Pacino.

Pitt: Well, Pacino just gave us a little respectability, you know? Something that we needed.

Clooney: And he learned a lot from us. He was there to learn. I felt that sometimes you’d look at him and he’d just look up at you with puppy-dog eyes, like, “Thank you. Seriously.”

The two go on to discuss their relationship with each other and with their families.

Pitt: We have good fun together. We all know each other pretty well now and know each other’s families.

Clooney: It’s the funniest thing, I have to say: Since Eleven, when we started, all the guys have gotten married, had kids, and have whole families. This time there were babies everywhere. We’d be on the set in L.A. and I just sit in the middle of the whole thing like an old man.

Pitt: He looks like he’s trying to decipher a foreign language.

Clooney: It’s true! I’m like, What the hell are these little things?

EW: Do you ever look at each other and go, Hell, I wish I was in the Italian villa instead of changing diapers? Or: Man, I wish I had a couple of those rug rats?

Pitt: No.

Clooney: No.

Pitt: But I tell ya what, kids are a lot of hard work.

Clooney: It’s one of those difficult things [when you’re famous].

EW: Because of the endless scrutiny?

Clooney: Yeah. No one wants to hear you complain, because it sounds like you’re whining. But I think he and Angie have a tougher time living their lives, just going out to see the city with the kids. I mean, look out there, all the boats with the cameras. I was walking around on the beach yesterday and I just thought to myself, Where’s Brad? And all of a sudden you see the cameras all go WHOOOOSSSHH and I was like, Oh, here he comes! I watch that and think, Wow. I know it’s not all that fun for me, and it seems exponentially harder for him.

So how do they escape the paparazzi?

Clooney: Motorcycles are the great equalizer. You put on a helmet and they can’t see you.

Pitt: Just keep moving. That’s the key.

Clooney: You stop, you die. Lobbies of hotels and places like that are the worst. You have to just keep moving to the elevator, because you have to get the elevator door to close.

EW asked how the two keep the constant public scrutiny from ruining their day to day lives.

Clooney: You adjust your life, certainly. There are certain things you don’t do, there are certain places you don’t go, but then at some point you have to go out. You have to live, you know?

Pitt: So you will see George laid out on the rocks in a Speedo later.

Clooney: I don’t want to see anyone in a Speedo. Especially 70-year-old men. [Gestures to the beach, which is full of 70-year-old men in Speedos] You learn a lot about the aging process watching that. [Laughs]

EW: Clearly the obsession with celebrity is a little out of control. From where I sit, it looks like you’re the meat being thrown to the lions.

Clooney: Right. Well, we are always going to be that society that slows down to look at the car wreck on the side of the road. I think we’re just in one of those places right now, and it seems to be focused on younger kids. Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan and people like that. They’ll get through it, but I wouldn’t want to be growing up around that. If I were as famous as some of those kids who are on the magazines right now at 21 years old, I’d be shooting crack under my eyeball.

Pitt: But being that it is our nature, you have to focus on other, more important issues too, because those [car wreck] tendencies can be very disruptive and aren’t a good guide on how to live your life.

Clooney: No, it’s a terrible guide.

EW: So how do you get people to focus on the issues that matter to you—and manage to make a difference—without just distracting from the cuase?

Clooney: It’s interesting. Brad did it first and best—he went to Africa. Was it the Diane Sawyer show?

Pitt: It was.

Clooney: You made this really interesting decision where you said, “The cameras are going to follow me, so I’m going to go here. And wherever the cameras follow me they’re going to see this.” It was really smart. And I thought, Wow, here’s a way to take this insatiable appetite and say, “If you’re going to take these photographs and follow us around, fair enough. But you’re also going to have to go where it will provoke some thought about what else is going on in the world.” It was a really smart play. And all of us have been taking a cue from that.

Pitt: The idea was: We can’t get out of the spotlight and they can’t get in the spotlight, so let’s equal that out a little bit.

Read the full interview with George Clooney and Brad Pitt at the Entertainment Weekly website.

Biography for George Clooney

Date of Birth
6 May 1961, Lexington, Kentuck, USA

Mini Biography

Born in Lexington, Kentucky, as son of Nick Clooney, a TV newscaster of many years, who hosted a talk show at Cincinnati and often invited George into the studios already at the age of 5. Avoiding competition with his father, he quit his job as broadcast journalist after a short time.

Studied a few years at Northern Kentucky University. Failed to join the Cincinnati Reds baseball team. He came to acting when his cousin, Miguel Ferrer, got him a small part in a feature film. After that, he moved to L.A. in 1982 and tried a whole year to get a role while he slept in a friend's closet. His first movie, together with Charlie Sheen, stayed unreleased but got him the producers' attention for later contracts.

First Look: The Bourne Ultimatum

“Matt Damon is back again for the third film in the Bourne Identity series which hits theaters on August 3rd 2007. It is expected that The Bourne Ultimatum will have a completely different plot from Robert Ludlum’s bestselling novel. The movie co-stars Joan Allen, Paddy Considine, Edgar Ramirez, Julia Stiles, and David Strathairn.

You have to love the Bourne series as it brings intelligence back to the Spy film, but at the same time holds no bunches in terms of action.

The latest installment follows Bourne’s journey to Madrid, Moscow, and Paris to NYC and Tangier to hunt down his past in order to find a future, all the while trying to outmaneuver the scores of federal officers, Interpol agents, and police officers.”

Matt's Quotes

"Action movies normally are like porn movies.
